PLAY(THE)GROUND
Join us for an informal workshop-conversation where you can engage and co-create with artists and creatives currently collaborating with the community of Centro de Dia de Nossa Senhora dos Anjos.
In the spring of 2025, the collective Mais uno+1 invites artists and creatives to spend time in places that, despite being at the heart of Lisbon, remain largely unnoticed by those who pass by.
These two communities – the daycare center and the psychiatric hospital – form a complete ecosystem striving to lead a normal life within the complexities of mental health and aging. Though often perceived as mere "institutions," these territories offer much more than basic survival care. They are open spaces, welcoming the everyday life of the city, making them visible, and normalizing their role—not just for those in need or at times of need, but as an integral part of urban life.
Through the PLAY(THE)GROUND multidisciplinary residency program, artists and creatives co-create with local communities. The process will be shared in a workshop-conversation at Hub Criativo da Mouraria, where everyone is welcome to participate and co-create!
